For over 30 years Del and his wife Margie have had Koi ponds. In the last 15 years raising Koi became a passion. In the process, water quality and Koi health became critical to success in raising Koi. The facility now consists of a large breeding pond, a rearing pond, strip pit for growing big fish, a 6,000 gal show tank and numerous 600 gal tanks. Twin Oaks is a closed facility, where only a few special young koi are brought in for rearing from a large, also "closed facility" and quarantined. Thereby reducing any chance of health issues. I have been asked to trade in fish or just take fish. I can't take the chance of bringing something in to my facility. It could cost thousands and alot of work and time to cleanup. So I just don't do it. Sorry.
It has become apparent that some folks who build ponds really don't understand the requirements for a healthy "KOI" pond. So retrofitting has become a necessity. It would be easier to plan correctly up front. That's one place we a can help.
